What are some bands or songs that are like the Dave Matthews Band?
I am in LOVE with the Dave Matthews Band. Their music is amazing. What are some other bands/songs/cd’s that have the same good-feeling vibe as DMB?
Dave Matthews Band is definitely one of the greatest band ever.
I’ve been going through these pages, and all I’ve heard is “Basshunter, Britney Spears and so on..”
It’s nice to finally see someone with such a great taste.
But since DMB by far is my favourite band, I would have a hard time recommending music for you, but I sure will be excited to hear how others answer your question!
Also – I think the answer depends a lot on which kind of their songs you like. You say “good-feeling vibe”, but could you maybe give som examples.
If you like tracks like Rapunzel or Seven (on GrooGrux) – the “funk style DMB”, I guess you would enjoy bands like Tower of Power, but you’ve probably heard about them already.
Since we both enjoy DMB a lot, I can recommend some bands, that I like, but they’re not really like DMB.
Radiohead – you probably know
Kashmir – you probably don’t know (danish band)
Dizzy Mizz Lizzy (danish rockband)
Sp Just Frost / Skipper Just Frost
It would be a huge suprise to me, if you knew this band/trio.
They’re even unknown in Denmark, but they’re really cool.
They play funk/New Orleans kind of music – you can’t find they’re music on YouTube, but if you want to listen to a track or two, you should get “Tipitina” and “How Can They Be So and So Funky” from iTunes (or where you get your music) – they’re worth every penny.
Notice the drums – they’re amazing. Drummer Søren Frost is considered one of the best jazz-drummers in Denmark (though he doesn’t really play jazz :p)
