Outfielders Andre Ethier and Matt Kemp were awarded best hitter and it was the first time that two outfielders have won this prestigious award for the Los Angeles Dodgers at one time. Kemp went on to join the ranks of Dusty Baker and Russell Martin, who picked up the double catcher awards in 1981 and 2007 respectively.
